Occupational Safety and Health in the Work Place

The course is aimed at helping participants to acquire necessary knowledge, skills and information that place them in the right position to demand for their rights in the workplace. It should be noted that work places are subject to certain challenges and exceptions in case of unfortunate situation manifests and it is illegal to operate workplaces without undertaking Occupational Safety, Health, and Workers’ rights as it is punishable by laws at international, national and local levels of jurisdiction.

Further the course examines the impact of the work environment conditions in promoting performance in the workplace. The focus covers physical, psychological, psycho-social, and economical implications to the employees within the organization.

To share an understanding of what health care for workers and its effects on employees in workplace.
To spell out duties and obligations of both employers and employees in ensuring safety and health for all at work places. ·
To Stress measures and methods that should be put in place to ensure safety and health at work. ·
To facilitate an understanding of how to deal with OSH as a human right issue in the work place. ·
To appreciate the challenges in addressing OSH in the workplace
